  • bernard fowler - vocals

    Bernard Fowler is an American musician. He is known for a long association with The Rolling Stones, providing backing vocals since 1989 and on their studio recordings and live tours. Fowler has been a featured guest vocalist on the majority of solo albums released by the members of that band and has two solo albums of his own. Fowler has toured and recorded with the bands Tackhead and Bad Dog, Nicklebag and Little Axe.

  • Beau-Jarred Schekeryk - guitar

    Son of Melanie Safka and Peter Schekeryk, Beau grew up in studios and in music. He is a self-taught classical guitarist, a classically trained folk-rhythm guitarist, and studied musical engineering with his late father. As a young musician, Beau played on a Casio keyboard and guitar, practicing the same three chords his mother taught all of her children. He spent hours, days, and years honing his craft—playing along with a wide spectrum of guitarists such as Doc Watson, Christopher Parkening, Segovia, and Carlos Montoya—listening, learning, and performing while on the road.

    In the early 2000s, he began his adventures in engineering. Following in his parents’ footsteps and collaborating with his talented sisters, Beau continues to honor the legacy and gift of music he was born into, performing, playing, and recording with his equally gifted siblings.

  • kyle Miller - drums

    Kyle started his rock music career in Halifax, NS during the vibrant live music scene of the 1980s, playing original & cover music with enduring bands such as Razorboy & Sam Moon. He is BANC’s first drummer, starting with the band when it was founded by JC & Rudy. After graduating from Dalhousie University with a BSc, Kyle threw his degree on the bed and toured extensively across Canada for almost 10 years. Kyle is well known for his beautiful Crystalite acrylic ‘Good Fibes’ drum kit, acquired from Jerry Mercer of April Wine in 1978. Kyle quit the music business in the 1990s and moved to Toronto, where he started a family and a career in technology and digital marketing. Here he met and became fast friends with JC Carter. In 2003, Kyle relocated to Vancouver and resurrected his playing and passion for music. Now involved in several Vancouver music projects, Kyle is thrilled to be part of the BANC family and making music with JC.

    Phil’s life has been filled with music from the very beginning. Growing up with four older brothers immersed him in the sounds of the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s, sparking a passion that grew into a lifelong devotion to the art form. What started as youthful excitement has become an encyclopedic command of songs, artists, and musical history—insight that everyone he works with has come to rely on.

    Blessed with the angelic voice of an Irish tenor and guided by his belief that “music is something we feel and share,” Phil brings warmth, sincerity, and heartfelt presence to every performance. His ability to connect with an audience makes each song feel personal, alive, and deeply meaningful.

    Known for his generosity and collaborative spirit, Phil often says it’s “a dream come true” to share the stage with such talented, seasoned, and giving musicians. To him, music is a shared journey—one he’s grateful to travel alongside the people who inspire him every day.

    Jules is a founding member of Canadian indie legends Captain Tractor, the beloved folk-rock band that has been an essential part of Edmonton’s musical identity for decades. Their sound has often drawn comparisons to Great Big Sea, The Pogues, and Spirit of the West, yet the band’s distinct voice—rich with Alberta references, characters, and landscapes—has always set them apart.

    As one of the original driving forces behind the group, Jules helped shape Captain Tractor’s signature energy: high-velocity reels, raucous pub-style choruses, and narrative songs that celebrate the quirks and rhythms of life in Western Canada. Over the years, he has toured extensively, recorded multiple albums, and contributed to the band’s enduring reputation as one of the country’s most spirited and theatrical live acts.

    With roots in musical theatre, Jules brings a dynamic, expressive presence to the stage—an influence that helped shape the band’s signature blend of grit, humour, and theatrical flair.
